Aashada Shukla Ekadasi – An Important and Auspicious Day

Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara – Tomorrow Monday (July 27) is Aashada Shukla Ekadasi, a very auspicious and important day. Millions of devotees (mostly poor and illiterate) from across the country and near by villages are thronging Pandiraipuram Kshethram to have Darshan of Lord Vittal and Rakhumai on this great day. Please see the picture below of Panduranga temple at night glowing and gearing up for Aashada Shukla Ekadasi. This was taken just a few hours back. Aashada Shukla Ekadasi is considered as important as Maha Shivarathri, Vaikunta Ekadasi, etc in Maharashtra Varkari Sampradayam. In the Anugraha Bhashanam of HH Bala Periyava published a few days back, he mentions about the significance of this Kshethram, our Adi Achayaral’s visit to this Kshethram and HH Pudhu Periyaval’s initiatives. On this auspicious day let’s mentally be there in Pandaripuram (if not physically), pray to Periyava and Lord Vittalan to give us Bhakthi, Gnanya, Vairagyam…

  1. Ram Ram Dear All – Since this is a reblogged post from last year I could not edit the date for some reason. Aashada Shukla Ekadasi is on Friday July 15 in Bharatha Desam and not Monday July 27 as mentioned in the above post. Ram Ram
