Smt. Prathiyangara Padmasini – another Pollachi Paatti!
Smt Padmasini, a vaishnavite devotee, is another Pollachi Paati in her devotion to MahaPeriyava. She had also visited most of the places Periyava visited. Simple, like Pollachi paati, and reminds of gopika-like bakthi towards Lord Krishna. Periyava is her world. She currently spends each and every minute of her life remembering all the great time spent time with Him and all the blessings received..
Highlights – her experience in Kamkshi Amman Temple, funny story about “badhusha”.

It is heart-filling to hear the definition of “anugraham” means. Periyava says His own words – listen to this. Smt & Sri Gurumurthy following the Deivathin Kural
In continuation to our new video series on how people transformed their lives after reading Deivathin Kural, here is our next couple Smt & Sri Gurumurthy. Unlike Sri Panchami Nagarajan, Sri Gurumurthy had had darshans, interacted with Him many times in the past but the actual transformation was triggered after reading Deivathin Kural.
There is a woman behind every successful man is a quote that we use even for pretty silly things. As Mahaperiyava says, the success of transforming the family members to a vedic way largely relies on the wife. Here is another perfect example for this. Mami’s interaction throughout the interview is extremely a pleasure to listen – very simple, plain and casual – no fancy words, sharing the practicality of the life while going through a transformation like this. I am too young to say “perfect couple” but we all could see how well-aligned they are in their thoughts and actions – not just them, the whole family!

Experience of Shri Kumaresan with Mahaperiyava
Sri Kumaresan is one of the anukka thondars of Mahaperiyava like Sri Srikanta, Sri Bala mamas. Like Brahmasri Chandramouli Srouthigal, Periyava arranged his poonal, his wedding etc. He narrates the events on the day Periyava attained sidhi.
In his narration, he talks about how Periyava slept on the road when He was feeling tired – simply amazing. I couldn’t even think if such things could happen in the future by anyone. Enjoy!

How wise a father could be to give such a treasure to his family!!! In a busy world where relationship with people are becoming thinner and thinner it is heart-filling to see how this family is staying united due to one force called “Periyava”. Episode after episode we are hearing devotees like them who have unshaken faith in Periyava have flourished – not just with money but also with happiness, satsang etc – with His blessings.

Sirugumani Patashala
Brahmasri Parasuramachar currently lives in Sirugumani and manages the patashala as directed by Mahaperiyava. Being a madhwa, Periyava is his dheivam and he strongly believes that only because of Him, today he was able to prepare 100s of madhwa vidhyarthis. When several madhwa mutts approached him to take over his patashala, he refused to give it up and continues to live with absolute faith in Mahaperiyava. Even today, Sri Parasuramachar’s students go for bhikshai in the agraharam and living the life prescribed by Mahaperiyava as much as possible. He refuses accepting money and any donations given to him – in a greedy world it is hard to see such great souls. As he ends the interview by saying that he is planning to do “soma yagam”, this was successfully completed in Feb 1st week of 2012 – I had a great opportunity to attend and also do a namaskaram to him. A Rig Vedic scholar,brahma sri PadmanAbhAchAr had his darshan during the chAtur mAsyA period.PeriyavA asked him if he had received the vidvat sambhAvanA given by the Mutt to the vedic scholars coming to the Mutt during chAtur mAsyA.The scholar replied in the negative. PeriyavA asked if he had undergone veda adhyayana.The pundit replied that he had, but had forgotten many portions and was therefore not eligible to receive the sambhAvanA. PeriyavA asked him to recite a particular portion of Rig Veda.The pundit recited the entire portion correctly. PeriyavA directed His assistants to bring the sambhAvanA and hand it over to the pundit with all the other honours due to vedic scholars.Persons following MAdhwA philosophy generally did not give as much importance to veda adhyayanA as they gave to the shAstrAs. PeriyavA directed that a pAta sAlA should be opened by the Veda Rakshan Nidhi Trust at Sirugamani, the village to which the pundit belonged and only MAdhwA boys be enrolled for adhyayanA in the pAta sAlA.Accordingly a pAtAsAlA was opened and vidhyArthIs were enrolled. Brahma Sri PadmanAbhAchAr didn’t stop with this. To show his gratitude to PeriyavA , he put all his three sons in the niyama-adhyayana scheme of VRN Trust and all these sons became gurus- two in the pAtasAlAs run by the VRN Trust and another in a pAtasAlA run at MantrAlayam, under the auspices of Sri RAghavendra Mutt.
Brahma Sri PadmanAbhAchar led an austere and simple life and started performing nitya agni hotrAs and later several yagnAs .Just a few days after he had performed a yagnA called VAjapeya yAga he came to MAhAgaon for darshan of PeriyavA.
The mahA rAjA of Sandur accompanied by his family members and assistants arrived at MAhAgAon for darshan and waiting for 3 days to meet Periyava. At this time, Brahmasri Padmanabhachar and his family came to get darshan of Periyava. Periyava asked him to leave the city immediately and asked the mutt servants to accompany them to the city border. PeriyavA had asked His assistants to get an umbrella used by temples when the deities were taken out on procession. Such a one which was heavy and very big was brought. Periyava told the mahArAja , that according to the shAstrasand traditions, when a vedic scholar conducts vajapeya yagnA it was the duty of the mahArAja to carry the umbrella over the head of the scholar as a mark of respect and honour to the pundit. He asked the mAharAjA,”Would you carry the umbrella over Sri PadmanAbhAcryA and his wife accompanying them from the city limit to my abode and from here to the place, where nityAgnihotri, vAjapeya yaji brahma sri PadmanAbhAchAr is staying?”The mahArAjA not only readily accepted the command; but he also offered to construct a residential house for the pundit.

Interview with Dr Radhakrishna Sastrigal, Srirangam
During my trip to Trichy, I was lucky to meet Dr Radhakrishna Sastrigal, who is a well-known sanskrit/vedic scholor and a ayurvedic doctor in Trichy/Srirangam. He has been associated with Kanchi mutt and all Periyavas for a very long time. He has shared very interesting experiences etc.
It was an interesting and very insightful 2+ hours conversations with him. He clarified several nithya puja related questions, helped me translate the meaning for the dhyana slokam. He has an excellent command over sastras and hence his clarification and guidance on certain things really helped….
My sincere apologies for shooting this through my iPad as I didn’t carry video camera or anything. So the audio is not good on the video. Please increase the volume to hear him…. I will request Shri Shivaraman to see the possibilities of interviewing him again properly.

Life of Brahmasri Chandramouli Srouthigal with Periyava
When I finished editing, to me, it looked like watching the movie “Gandhi” – I felt like living through their times. We’ve read 100 times that Periyava did padhayatra across the country. We never know about what does it take to travel with a sanyasi like Him. In this video, you would hear about the yatra Periyava started when He was 80 and all the hardship it takes to go for such yatra – hardship is not for Him – only for humans like us!!! I dont even know if I would live that long, even if I do, not sure If I can walk up to the end of the street without any problem. Here Lord Mahadeva decided to go for yatra at 80 by choosing closest assistants – Shri Chandramouli is one of them. If I am not mistaken, he is the ONLY one who got the bahyam of applying medicine / taking care of the lotus feet of Periyava during the yatra. It is beyond our comprehension how these yatras happened….
Also getting married to someone without seeing/talking just because Periyava asked that too in few days – amazing. His entire life has been blessed by Him – punya athma. On this last point, I do know that one of our readers have been blessed by Him in a very similar way. I was blessed to meet him during my India trip.

Thiruvannamalai Sri Gowrishankar’s interview – MUST-WATCH
He was the one who did not even wear poonal for years, still blessed by Periyava. Gave all his children to veda just because Periyava asked him to do. Ever heard of getting a darshan of Bagawan Ramana, Seshadri Swamigal together in one body?, His depth in quantum physics, languages, definition of the word “abscond” etc – listen to this interview.
